Hi, I’m Jake Miller, and if you’re into visual art, especially the quirky corners like NFT ASCII art, then welcome! I was born and raised in the digital heartland of San Francisco, CA – yep, another Californian dreaming in code and color.

My journey? It’s been a bit of a pixelated path, to be honest. I didn’t start out thinking I’d be diving into this specific niche. I actually have a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute – shoutout to my profs there, who really pushed me to experiment. I even did a stint at a web design firm after college, which, let’s be honest, felt pretty corporate at the time. But it did teach me a thing or two about user experience and how visuals translate online.

How did I end up with NFT ASCII art? Good question! I was always fascinated by the raw power of text as a visual medium. Think about it – before high-res screens, people were creating entire worlds with just letters, numbers, and symbols. Then NFTs came along, and it felt like the perfect intersection of old-school cool and cutting-edge tech. I mean, who wouldn’t want to own a piece of digital history (even if it’s made of text characters)?

I’ve spent the last few years really diving in – experimenting with different algorithms, studying the history of ASCII art, and trying to push the boundaries of what’s possible. It’s not always easy, mind you. Sometimes you stare at a screen full of characters and wonder if you’re going crazy. But then you create something that really pops – something that makes people stop and think – and it’s all worth it.

I’m a firm believer that art should be accessible (and maybe even a little bit absurd). NFTs can feel intimidating, but ASCII art is inherently democratic. Anyone can understand it, anyone can create it. And that’s what I love about it.

My values?

  • Accuracy is key. I always double-check my facts and sources before sharing anything. The NFT space can be a wild west, and I want to make sure I’m providing reliable information.
  • I value experimentation. I try to be fearless in my art, always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with ASCII.
  • I also value education. I want to help others learn about and appreciate this unique art form.

So, what else? I’m a huge sci-fi nerd – think Asimov and Gibson. I love hiking around the Bay Area (gotta get away from the screens sometimes, right?). And I’m always up for a good cup of coffee and a conversation about art, tech, or anything in between.

Ultimately, my goal is to share my passion with you and hopefully inspire you to see the world in a new way – one ASCII character at a time. I promise to bring you well-researched, informative, and (hopefully) entertaining content. Because let’s face it, learning about art shouldn’t be a chore!
